As an individual, we expect you to be engaged and contribute to our fields of civil, energy, and environmental engineering, all with a focus on sustainable development. Our research challenges aim to integrate and combine energy, food, and water challenges, and how we connect processes in sustainable circular systems, such as nutrient recovery in wastewater.

 This position is ideal for someone with a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to advancing sustainability, innovation, and safety in laboratory environments within an academic context.

 Your initial responsibilities will include:- Assisting in the operation of vertical urban farming: monitoring plant growth, nutrient management, environmental conditions, and diagnosing and solving system and component problems, both of simpler and more complex nature.

- Assisting in the operation and maintenance of our laboratories, which currently include research activities in building, energy, and several environmental engineering.- Working on and developing work and routines related to work environment, safety, and risk analyzes in our laboratories together with department heads and researchers.

- Analytical instrumentation: Assisting in the maintenance of a wide range of analytical instruments in our various laboratories (ICP-OES, HPLC, FIA, GC/MS, NIR, FT-IR).Qualification requirements We are looking for candidates with a bachelor's or master's degree in mechatronics engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, or equivalent competence that provides necessary scientific understanding and technical skills for this role.

To succeed in the role, we assess that you have good knowledge and experience in setting up and conducting measurements with associated data collection for various types of laboratory and experimental setups.

We are looking for candidates with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a laboratory environment, with specific experience in the operation and maintenance of various analytical instruments. Furthermore, we see that you have very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing.

To succeed in the role, you need to have knowledge of several analytical and spectroscopic instruments and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain these instruments for optimal functionality. You also need knowledge and experience in managing vertical farming systems, including monitoring and optimizing environmental conditions and nutrient management systems.

Merit For this position, it is meritorious if you, as an applicant, have education or certification in various types of instruments (such as ICP-OES, HPLC, FIA, GC/MS, NIR, FT-IR) regarding operation and safety issues.

Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have previous experience with experiments in vertical farming and related innovation and research projects. We also prefer applicants who have knowledge of various measurement techniques and sensors, and how they are used in practice.
