HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a business unit within Hitachi Energy, located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables.

HVDC is also used to connect power grids, e.g., between countries.

Are you looking for a stimulating and challenging job at the forefront of technology in a fast-growing market and organisation? We are now hiring a Production Engineer to work with digitalization, Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Operator Guidance Hardware and Software, and new tools in production to make sure our factories are equipped to meet the future of manufacturing.

You will be responsible to conduct production development and investment projects mainly with new technology. In your role, you become a natural digital leader in the organization. The role is organized in the production development department in the manufacturing organization with large cross-functional collaboration within the business unit and with external suppliers.

Your responsibilities

  • Identify and implement improvements in our factories with high focus on digitalization, automation and system development.
  • Lead small and middle-sized production development projects, often with new technology
  • Contribute in ongoing projects and strategic initiatives, working with production development and contributing to better productivity and production capacity.

  • Educate yourself in new digital tools, conducting benchmarks and keeping yourself up-to-date on the latest developments and trends within Digitalization, Automation, Operator Guidance, AGVs, systems already in use etc.

    Working with continuous improvements of existing solutions.

Your background

  • First and foremost, your personal qualities are vital for success! You have great self-drive, never doubt acting and continuously seek knowledge and answers.

  • You are interested and passionate about technology, digitalization, new tools and system development.
  • You are a natural change leader that can motivate and educate others to start using new tools and technologies.

  • You have adequate technical background from working in industry minimum 5 years and/or an academic engineering degree.
  • It is advantageous to have experience from working with SAP, MES, IBA, Connected machinery and equipment, automation, programming or AGV:s
  • Fluency in English is required, while proficiency in Swedish is meritorious.
