Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an Engineer to join our Skellefteå team.

In joining us for 12-18 months, you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of large-scale European battery factories.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage and own detailed design and process engineering from PO to FAT and SAT for manufacturing equipment & belonging operational processes
• Lead design reviews and FMEAs with suppliers and approve machine design concepts (drawings, documentation); identify and address opportunities to ensure continuous equipment improvement and to meet quality, technical specifications and CE standards
• Plan and execute hands-on technical work using statistical techniques (DoE, SPC) at supplier and NV sites to continuously improve our manufacturing equipment
• Own and lead commissioning activities on site and support handover to production engineering and manufacturing including writing procedures and providing training and coaching to other manufacturing associates
• Be hands on with automated production equipment, become the expert in process-product interactions and define the next wave of engineering workforce to secure our ambitious installation and start-up timeline

We believe that you have:

• BSc, MSc degree or PhD in process, mechanical, materials or chemical engineering
• 3+ years of direct hands-on engineering experience within equipment and process design in a manufacturing environment, ideally as a Process Engineer
• Experience developing or transitioning new processes from R&D to pilot production and from pilot production to large scale production
• Successful track record of leading process improvement projects in a production environment including troubleshooting, data analysis, flow optimization, root cause analysis, etc.
