What does a Key Account Manager do at Univar Solutions?

It is all about developing our Food portfolio of Sweden companies with various purchasing behavior.

In some cases that means identifying new customer needs, in some cases you focus on increased volumes, or in yet other cases you treat them to an excellent purchasing experience.

In all cases your mission is to strengthen the relationship, so they always choose Univar Solutions as their primary source of ingredients and chemicals within Food.

Aside from that, there will be opportunity for prospecting and creating new business. You will be one of our “go-to”-people for the business in Sweden. Naturally, the amount of activity you demonstrate is the primarily measurement for success.


What about the team?

You will take the team from a quartet to a quintet spread over Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden, with your manager is based in Denmark.

In the Nordic organization we are around two hundred colleagues in covering different business units and teams. At the office in Malmö, you find the Nordic headquarter with 80 colleagues in different business units and teams.

We have a wide variety of backgrounds and span all generations of the current job market.

Who might you be?

We expect you to have enough sales experience within B2B to know what the job entails.

This could be from the Food industry, but not necessarily. Although chemicals and ingredients may sound complicated and hard, the focus of this position (competence wise) is rather on the development of the customer relationship.

We have an internal organization that covers in-depth product knowledge. You will bring your strong ability to build relationships and we will provide the training and coaching.

To be successful in this job, we expect you to be alert, disciplined, a fast learner, and curious.

It also makes the job a lot more fun! You probably have experience in setting goals for yourself and working at it until you reach those goals, or what is commonly called grit.

What else? Since communication is key to this position and you will be working with our Swedish customers, you need to have professional proficiency in one of the Nordic languages, as well as confidence in your English (written and spoken).
