About job:

We are searching for a HSE Specialist to join Kedali Sweden AB. Kedali is one of world’s largest manufacturer of casings for lithium-ion batteries and operates within different segments of the battery industry and as the strategic partner of Northvolt here in Skellefteå.

HSE Specialists ensure safety at the workplace by implementing health and safety standards.


Location for this role: Skellefteå, Sweden

Start date: ASAP


Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for and report key figures within HSE.

  • Responsible for IA-System as a super user.
  • Review and assess internal personnel and suppliers' personal protective equipment.
  • Risk assessments and working methods as well as necessary training documentation.

  • Monitor and follow up the work and safety environment on site.
  • Communicate the selected health and safety strategies and policies.
  • Represent the company on HSE issues.
  • Plan and lead safety and security meetings.

  • Conduct protocols and follow up protocols on the above-mentioned meetings.
  • Lead and coordinate “Gemba walks” and fill in the required checklists
  • Follow up and be available at the facility, among other things through meeting place rounds.

  • Ensure that work permits are issued for initiated work.
  • Be part of on-site security campaigns.
  • Responsible for updating the safety and health plan.
  • Carry out safety introductions for the new employee.

  • Ensure “Secure Job Analysis” for critical work.
  • Ensure that the company's HSE policy are fully comprehensive and fulfilled in order to reduce risks.
  • Attend various types of meetings required.

  • Follow-up of observations, deviations, and accidents at work, and associated reporting.
  • Follow up relevant documentation about HSE.
  • Follow all existing Health, Safety & Environmental requirements.

  • Control incidents such as fires or other emergencies.
  • Manage partners to ensure that they comply with the minimum requirements regarding Health and Safety and have valid work permits.
  • Coordinate and control first-aid activities, conduct accident statistics and accident investigations
  • Coordinate chemical management, from purchasing to waste.

  • Coordinate the local fire protection work.
  • Perform statutory measurements such as sound / noise, chemicals and other environmental requirements to initiate corrective actions
  • Establish contact with the regional HSE manager and the HR team regarding workplace-related health issues, as well as environmental issues.

  • Educate company’s employees in all HSE prospects.
  • Train and inspire the production, maintenance and technical departments around work environment issues.
  • Monitor and implement new or updated laws, regulations, directives and internal requirements within the HSE.

  • Hold the contact with municipality, Northolt’s regarding the safety and environmentally issues.
  • Responsible for reporting TVOC emission to Northolt’s environmental team.


Competence and experience:

  • A university degree in HSE or high school degree with good relevant experience.

  • At least three years’ experience of a similar role.
  • Fluent in Swedish and English in speech and writing.
  • Experience from the manufacturing and construction industry.
  • Good communicator.

  • Pragmatic, non-bureaucratic, solution-oriented
