Development Engineer Working on Future Electrified Powertrains

Development Engineer Working on Future Electrified Powertrains

Scania CV AB

About job:

Scania is currently undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to becoming a provider of complete and sustainable transport solutions. Due to increasing environmental concerns in major cities and legislative requirements, electric trucks and buses are becoming the obvious choice for many players in the transport sector.

Scania, with a solid history of delivering premium quality products, is at the forefront of this shift in the automotive industry.

We are now looking for a new team member to join our group, which consists of engineers with diverse backgrounds and experience levels.

Our work environment embraces agile methods, allowing you to turn ideas into reality quickly! Some of the responsibilities within our group include dynamic torque control for optimal drivability and comfort, hardware protection functions, and estimating and predicting temperatures in the electric propulsion system.

A typical day for us might involve implementing a software change in the electric machine torque control algorithm, followed by testing it in a virtual truck before lunch. After lunch, you could continue verifying your software performance in a real truck.

Additionally, we conduct yearly expedition activities where our engineers verify our functionality in both northern Sweden and southern Europe.

Your profile

• You hold a master’s degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, system engineering, or a related field.

• You have work experience or have taken courses in areas such as control theory, hydraulics, electric motor control, signal processing, programming, modeling, and simulation using MATLAB Simulink.

• You are adaptable when faced with late changes and approach problems with a solution-oriented mindset.

• You are fluent in English, and knowledge of Swedish is a plus.

Having previous experience in software development for embedded systems is certainly advantageous.

However, even as a recent graduate eager to learn and explore new challenges, we have plenty of engaging tasks for you.

What we offer

As a Scania employee, you’ll enjoy excellent professional development opportunities, collaborate with great colleagues, and be part of a revolutionary journey.

Benefits include a company car, mutual performance bonuses, occupational pension, flexible working hours, and more. If you reside in Stockholm, take advantage of our direct bus service between Stockholm City, Liljeholmen, and Södertälje—the Scania Job Express.
