About job:

The Cost Engineer is responsible for cost control for a project including the configuration and maintenance of the cost control system and associated accounting, scheduling, progress, trend, change and contractor performance data required to ensure reliability and accuracy of both actual costs and commitments to date, and forecast to complete.

On a day-to-day basis he or she reports directly to the Project Controls Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares the project cost control procedure as a standalone document, or as a chapter in the Project Controls Plan or Project Execution Plan.

  Ensures alignment with applicable Northvolt standards.

• Establishes budgets for control accounts, purchase orders, contracts and work packages based on the detailed cost estimate
• Prepares the monthly Northvolt standard cost reports and supports Northvolt Business and Finance Control requests for information
• Prepares the Project Close-out Report and provides input to lessons learned and cost benchmark data collection.

  Assists with the asset capitalization process, supports contract close-out, and ensures that the project is properly closed in Dynamics.

• Supervises less experienced cost engineers and provides onboarding, training, and mentoring support.

Qualifications:

• University degree in engineering, business administration, accounting, economics, or finance
• +8 years of cost control experience on industrial projects greater than €50 million
• In-depth knowledge of cost control and accounting practices and concepts
• Ability to work without supervision and to meet deadlines under pressure
• Ability to process, analyze and draw meaningful conclusions from large volumes of data
• Demonstrates a commitment to transparent and accurate Capex reporting and forecasting
• Experience supervising and training less experienced cost engineers
