Employment information Employment: Temporary employment 2 years Scope: Full time Number of positions: 1 Closing date for application: 2024-05-31 Campus location: Eskilstuna School: School of Innovation, Design and Engineering, (IDT)Position description The purpose of the position is to give the employee an early opportunity to develop his or her independence as a researcher and to create the conditions for further acquisitions of qualifications after completing the doctoral degree.

The position is part of efforts to underpin the future supply of skills. The position is a temporary employment of maximum 3 years.The position is mainly related to research in the area of data-driven production planning.

The research is linked to the research group Production Development and ongoing research initiatives within the focus area Smart Production. The work involves both connecting to and strengthening ongoing initiatives but also initiating and driving initiatives in the area by driving or participating in research applications.

The research will be conducted in collaboration with MDU's partners and in collaboration with MDU's collaboration platform MITC.Teaching may be included with a maximum of 20%.Qualifications requirements The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in product and process development, mechanical engineering, industrial economics, supply and operations management, production (systems), logistics or equivalent.

The applicant must have completed the degree no more than three years before the end of the application period. You have not previously held a position as a postdoctoral researcher in the same or related subject area at MDU that exceeds one year.

You have knowledge and experience of research linked to production planning and experience of empirical/industrial research, preferably in industry. Good knowledge of English at an academic level is a requirement.

Assesment criteria Demonstrated experience of collaboration, in particular research in co-production with business partners, preferably in industrial environments is meritorious as well as research and knowledge linked to digitalization specifically in production planning and/or linked to AI/machine learning, system integration or similar.

Furthermore, we see industrial/practical experience of production planning as a merit as well as having an established academic and industrial network. Knowledge of Swedish is a merit. In an overall assessment of suitability, emphasis is also placed on personal abilities.
